We pledge to honor your trust in Ignatians West and will work in 2021 to expand our outreach. Your partnership with us through your donations and prayers is important to us. Together we can make a difference in the greater Los Angeles area. 2021 could not come fast enough for most of us. Turning the page on the calendar to January 1 of the new year was to be a symbol of hope toward putting aside the suffering and doubt that has been so present. However, it did not work out that way. The virus sent many of us to bed, if not the hospital, and in some cases took our loved ones from us in too soon. The unimaginable incident in our nation’s capital a few days ago added to our confusion about what the future might hold. It can begin to feel that everywhere we turn there is turmoil. Anxiety can creep into our lives, sleep becomes troubled and worry abounds. As people of faith we are called to trust in God’s love for us that when realized offers the hope we so long for. Today’s gospel ends with a voice from the heavens saying, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” If we could look on each other, those we love and those we do not understand at all, with the eyes of God we might see that we are each beloved daughter and sons. Over time, with deliberate intention, perhaps we can regain trust and hope in each other. In the spirit of a bold new year that looks to positive change in our lives we invite you to join us for our January retreat taking place via Zoom. Ignatians West January Retreat Wednesday, January 13th 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM via Zoom with Fr. Frank Buckley, SJ Clinical Director The Center at Blessed Sacrament |
